Wealth Industry Veteran Renato Mota Joins InvestStream Advisory Board

Former Insignia Financial CEO joins InvestStream to spearhead a new era of financial advice and engagement infrastructure designed to close the advice gap.

InvestStream, an AI-powered financial modelling infrastructure provider, announced the appointment of highly respected wealth management executive Renato Mota to its Advisory Board.

The appointment marks a significant expansion of InvestStream’s institutional footprint as the company scales its proprietary financial modelling engine, SUGAI™, and conversational engagement layer, SuperAnne™, across the superannuation and wealth management sectors.

Mota brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across financial services, regulatory engagement, and digital transformation. As former Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Insignia Financial, he led the group’s evolution into Australia’s largest retail wealth manager, overseeing landmark acquisitions and more than $300 billion in assets under management (AUM).

His extensive board and governance experience includes serving as a Non-Executive Director of the Financial Services Council (FSC) alongside previous director roles across major advice licensees, including Shadforth Financial Group and Bridges Financial Services.

Aligning Legacy Experience with Future Infrastructure

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the Australian wealth sector, as superannuation funds and wealth management institutions face increasing pressure to deliver scalable, compliant, and cost-effective financial guidance to millions of Australians.

Throughout his career, Mota has been a strong advocate for technological evolution within wealth management, frequently highlighting the industry’s lack of structural innovation. He has consistently championed advanced computational technology and unified infrastructure as essential to reducing the cost of advice and improving accessibility at scale

InvestStream’s decoupled core architecture directly addresses this challenge by centralising financial modelling logic within a shared infrastructure layer, removing the manual re-keying of data and reducing the operational inefficiencies that have traditionally constrained scale across the advice ecosystem.

A Shared Vision for Scalable Guidance

"Renato has operated at scale within the highest levels of the Australian wealth management ecosystem and deeply understands the operational realities institutional boards are navigating," said Jason Hoang, founder of InvestStream.

"His strategic insight will be invaluable as we deploy our financial intelligence infrastructure, combining the financial modelling power of SUGAI with the conversational engagement of SuperAnne, across Australia’s leading financial institutions."

Commenting on his appointment, Renato Mota stated:

"The wealth sector has reached a point where traditional, siloed software is no longer economically viable to scale advice. What drew me to InvestStream is that they aren't just building another interface, they have built a unified, open architecture infrastructure layer, appropriate for regulated environments. This is the exact structural innovation required to safely and efficiently bridge the advice gap for millions of Australians."

Mota’s appointment is effective immediately. He will work closely with InvestStream’s leadership team to support institutional partnerships, regulatory alignment, and distribution strategy across Australia’s evolving wealth ecosystem.
