SYDNEY, 17 September 2026 – Sokin, the global business payments company, has strengthened its Australian leadership team as it expands its presence in the market and continues to serve businesses trading across Asia Pacific and beyond.

Sokin’s goal is to help Australian businesses address high FX costs, slow settlement, SWIFT-related friction, unpredictable fees and limited access to the multi-currency capabilities required to manage international cash flow effectively.

Mark Brown leads the region as General Manager, APAC, having joined Sokin in March. Brown is an experienced financial markets leader with senior roles across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He has around 15 years in B2B foreign exchange, derivatives and payments. Previous roles include Managing Director, Argentex Australia, Head of FX, Sales and Dealing at Moneytech, Vice President and Sales Director at Cambridge Global Payments, and Head of Sales at American Express.

"Australian businesses trade across Asia Pacific every day, but the payment systems they rely on were not designed to cross borders," said Mark Brown, General Manager, APAC at Sokin. "They are paying too much for foreign exchange services and waiting days for settlement, often without any visibility of where their funds have gone. We have put a senior team on the ground here to change that, with people who know this market inside and out."

Jason Rohloff joined in February as Head of Compliance, Australia and MLRO. He has more than 25 years experience in financial services and payments businesses with 15 of those years in risk and compliance roles in Australia. Previous roles include Chief Risk Officer and MLRO, Monoova, prior to which he held senior positions at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, OFX, Macquarie Bank and Westpac.

Australian customers can hold and manage supported currencies, receive funds through local and international account details, convert currencies and make payments in more than 70 currencies across over 170 countries.

"Legacy payment systems cannot keep pace with the speed of innovation that today's businesses demand. For a globally connected market like Australia, that gap has become a real barrier to growth," said Vroon Modgill, CEO and founder of Sokin. "Australia has a strong, outward-looking economy built on trade across the region, and domestic payment infrastructure to match. Its international payments have been left behind. With a senior team in Australia, we can build for this market directly."

Sokin's global client and sponsorship relationships include the T100 Triathlon World Tour, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Mumbai Indians.
