FinTech Australia announces Intersekt 2025
Federal Assistant Treasurer Daniel Mulino, fintech and financial services leaders from companies including Xero, QBE, Webull, Blackbird, Swyftx and Airwallex will take to the stage at this year’s Intersekt conference on September 17 and 18 at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne.
The event serves as the cornerstone of FinTech Week Australia (Sept 15 - 19), a week-long celebration of 10 years of the industry’s growth in this country. Intersekt will highlight ten years of evolution in Australia’s fintech sector. Intersekt will also address how fintech is directly impacting the real economy and the innovation within emerging regulatory frameworks.
“We’ve designed this year’s program to reflect on how far the industry has come and where it’s going next,” Rehan D’Almeida, CEO of FinTech Australia said.
“It’s an opportunity to examine the tangible impact fintech is having on everyday Australians and the broader economy.”
The event’s keynote speakers include some of the most prominent names in the industry:
Daniel Mulino, Federal Assistant Treasurer
Marnie Baker, RBA Board Member and Former Bendigo and Adelaide Bank CEO
Lynn Thompson, Global Head of Strategy and Partnerships, QBE
Michael Tolo, Partner at Blackbird
Shannon Scott, SVP, Global Head of Product at Airwallex
Jason Titman, CEO, Swyftx
Robert Talevski, CEO, Webull Australia
Soumya Srinivasan, Head of Product, Payments, Xero
Angad Soin, Managing Director, AUS & NZ and Global Chief Strategy Officer, Xero
Scott Farrell, KWM
Kate Cooper, CEO, OKX
“We’re expecting another record year for attendance, with a strong showing from not just fintechs, but also corporates, regulators and investors. Intersekt continues to be the nexus where every part of the ecosystem connects,” D’Almeida added.
Last year’s Intersekt hosted more than 1000 attendees including representatives from over 220 fintechs and 11 government agencies. Organisers are encouraging early registration, as the event has sold out a week in advance for three years running.
Intersekt 2025 is made possible by the support of its gold partner Bolt and the continued support of the Victorian Government through the Department of Jobs, Skills and Regions as a Presenting Partner of the event.
“Bolt Group, as an active member of Fintech Australia and the broader fintech community, is proud to be this year’s Gold Sponsor of Intersekt 2025. We’re excited to support an event that brings together so many valuable stories, insights, and connections for our industry,” Bolt CEO, James Woodward said.
