FinTech Australia signs on Google Cloud and eftpos corporate partners

FinTech Australia has announced both Google Cloud and eftpos as a new corporate partner for the organisation.

The FinTech Australia partnership program helps embed these companies within the fintech ecosystem and networks them with its key players. Partner companies also serve as a key support for events, awards and other FinTech Australia community activities.

FinTech Australia’s current corporate partners include: Amazon Web Services (AWS), VISA, Bank of Queensland, NAB, EY and BDO.
“Corporate partnerships are a crucial component of our organisation and overall ecosystem,” Rebecca Schot-Guppy, GM of FinTech Australia said.

“These agreements help us grow the ecosystem and empower it to be globally competitive. They are supporting services that act as a lifeline during the COVID-19 pandemic for many fintechs, that will allow them to thrive again once this crisis has passed,”

“We want to thank Google Cloud and eftpos for their support of the ecosystem, and look forward to better integrating them with the fintech community.”

“We’re pleased to partner with FinTech Australia and are committed to delivering the technology and expertise needed to help financial services institutions of all sizes in Australia solve their most complex business and technology challenges,” said Mark Innes, vice president, Google Cloud in Australia and New Zealand.

eftpos CEO Stephen Benton said eftpos’ move into digital payments, digital identity and mobile wallets represented a great opportunity for Australian fintechs to innovate on the eftpos network, with access to hundreds of thousands of merchants and many millions of consumers across the country.

“It’s great to be partnering with Fintech Australia and to work more closely with the fintech community as we move more deeply into the digital ecosystem over the coming months.  We are very open to working with Australian fintechs to leverage our assets such as our newly acquired mobile wallet, Beem It, and our digital identity solution, connectID, and create compelling innovations for consumers and merchants,” Mr Benton said.

“We are already working with about a dozen Australian fintechs to bring innovative solutions to the market quickly, using our public API program to enable direct connection into the eftpos network and access to multiple banks and merchants.
