Tyro Health helps vet clinics simplify pet insurance claims and payments with GapOnly®
New GapOnly Vet Portal expands access to real-time claiming, gap payments, settlement and reconciliation in one secure workflow
Sydney, 21 July 2026 — Tyro Health today announced the launch of the GapOnly Vet Portal, helping veterinary clinics connect real-time pet insurance claiming with digital payments, settlement and reconciliation in one secure workflow.
PetSure’s 2026 Pet Health Monitor shows the cost of treating common health conditions in dogs and cats can run into the hundreds, or thousands, of dollars, reinforcing the importance of simple, transparent claiming experiences for pet owners and vet clinics. At the same time, clinic teams are managing growing administrative demands across payments, claims and reconciliation.
The GapOnly Vet Portal is free to access, helping more veterinary clinics offer GapOnly® regardless of their size or location. Clinics only pay when claims and payments are raised.
For pet owners, this means broader access to real-time claiming, helping more customers avoid paying the full eligible invoice upfront before waiting for reimbursement.
The launch marks the next stage of Tyro Health’s partnership with GapOnly®, a PetSure solution, to deliver the next generation of payment services for pet insurance. The partnership was first announced in June 2025, with Tyro selected as GapOnly®’s preferred technology partner to help expand access to GapOnly® across Australian veterinary clinics.
GapOnly® is Australia’s real-time pet insurance claiming network and is already used in around 85% of Australian veterinary clinics as part of everyday clinical workflows. It processes more than 3,000 claims in real time every day.
Through the GapOnly Vet Portal, clinics can view approved benefits, confirm the pet owner’s final out-of-pocket amount and request payment from the same secure portal.
Payment requests can be sent immediately or after treatment has been completed, giving clinics flexibility when claim outcomes are still being finalised. Pet owners receive a secure payment link by SMS or email, and can pay using their preferred payment method, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The GapOnly Vet Portal is one way vet clinics can access Tyro Health’s payments technology. Tyro Health Pro devices are also now available to vet clinics, supporting modern in-clinic payments alongside the portal.
In future, the new GapOnly® claiming experience will also be available for integration with Veterinary Software partners, helping clinics access real-time claiming through the software they already use. Tyro Health’s EFTPOS and digital payment capabilities will be available through a modern integration interface, giving Veterinary Software partners a simpler way to connect, and giving clinics more flexible ways to take payments, manage reconciliation, and keep daily operations moving.
