57 brokers, lenders, and industry partners joined the Pink Ribbon Breakfast in Rhodes to support world-class breast cancer research
26 October 2026, Sydney: LoanOptions.ai’s Head of Novated Leasing, Elle Carrasco, and the Finance Brokers Association of Australia’s (FBAA) NSW & ACT State Manager, Nicole Mann, hosted a Pink Ribbon Charity Breakfast on Thursday 22 October, raising $3829 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
Held at Maestria Restaurant & Bar in Rhodes, the breakfast brought together 57 guests from across the finance and broking industry for a morning of food, conversation, raffles and plenty of pink. Funds were raised through ticket sales, a raffle and donations.
The event supported NBCF’s work funding research toward a future where no one loses their life to breast cancer. According to the NBCF, one in seven Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
Ms Carrasco said the cause was personal.
“A video from the National Breast Cancer Foundation stopped me mid-scroll once, and it changed the course of my story. It led to me having surgery and probably saved my life. That’s why this morning mattered so much to me. Awareness works, and so does a room full of people deciding to show up for something bigger than their day job. To everyone who bought a ticket, donated or brought a colleague along in pink, thank you. You’ve helped fund research that could change someone else’s story,” she said.
Ms Mann said the strong turnout reflected the strength of the broking community.
“We swapped our usual networking catch-up for something more meaningful, and the industry absolutely delivered. Brokers spend their days helping people reach their goals, and it was inspiring to see that same generosity turned toward breast cancer research. Thank you to everyone who filled the room, to our sponsors, and to Elle for being such a driving force behind the morning,” she said.
Fundraising remains open at https://fundraise.nbcf.org.au/fundraisers/loanoptionsaifbaa/pink-ribbon-breakfast until 19th November 2026.
The NBCF encourages Australians to become familiar with how their breasts normally look and feel and to see their GP promptly if they notice any changes.
