Change Financial appoints Jennifer Mateer to drive ongoing global expansion

Change Financial Limited (Change), a leading ASX-listed (CCA)  Australian payments fintech, today announced the appointment of Jennifer Mateer as Chief  Commercial Officer and the promotion of Richard Scown as Chief Architect and Head of Product.

Ms Mateer’s role will focus on the commercial aspects across the business, ensuring Change is  well positioned to enhance its global client acquisition capabilities, expand existing customer  engagements, and continue to bolster their customer operations functions.

She has spent over 15 years developing and leading high performing teams across the Oceania  region for international payments technology and software provider, Global Payments.

In this position, she played a pivotal role in new client acquisition, as well as managing existing  client and partner relationships, through her roles as Business Leader of Acquisition and Growth  and General Manager of their education software platform, Sentral.

Chief Executive Officer of Change Financial, Tony Sheehan, said that Ms Mateer’s extensive  experience within the payments space is an asset to Change Financial as they look to continue  expanding their business in key regions such as New Zealand and the Philippines.

“Jennifer’s proven track record in driving business growth and being a leader within large  organisations will be a key asset for our business as we continue to grow and expand in key  markets,” Mr Sheehan said.

This appointment comes after the company had a strong finish to 2023, having rolled out their  Fintech Incubator program with Mastercard to facilitate access to the market for smaller providers,  as well as launching their first prepaid clients and card programs in the New Zealand market.

“After a positive year in 2023, Change has already had a strong start to 2024, as we build the  foundations to onboard more clients, through our Fintech Incubator program, or directly with larger  companies who are wanting to offer a card program.”

“Jennifer will undoubtedly be a critical part of this journey, leveraging her experience to deliver on  our mission to provide clients with simple, flexible and fast to market payment solutions and  services.”

As part of the company’s ongoing growth and expansion, Richard Scown will be promoted to the  role of Chief Architect and Head of Product. Mr Scown has been with Change Financial for over  30 years and has led the development of their card payment, software, and technology solutions.

“Richard plays a critical role in our business and in his new role he will focus more explicitly on  developing the technologies needed to continue innovating our product offerings and providing  market leading solutions to our customers,” Mr Sheehan concluded.

Ms Mateer started her role on 02 April 2024 and is based in Brisbane.
